The challenge
The Client is a company belonging to one of Italy's top five multi-utility groups, active in the distribution of electricity, gas, and water resources, environmental services management, public lighting, and energy redevelopment activities, including through the application of the ESCo model.
It now finds itself in an increasingly complex context, characterized by the need to implement a challenging decarbonization plan and reduce the energy costs associated with the management of the Group's assets and infrastructure, such as administrative buildings, purification plants, and aqueducts.
The solution
Through an integrated approach, Fichtner Management Consulting Italia s.r.l. supported the client in identifying and evaluating the technical and economic potential of efficiency measures: photovoltaic systems, BESS storage systems (including co-location), and remote individual self-consumption configurations. Pre-feasibility studies were developed for each initiative, including layouts, sizing, CAPEX/OPEX estimates, and business cases, in order to objectively guide investments. The combined technical and financial analysis made it possible to select sustainable, scalable business models that comply with incentives and current regulations.
