The challenge
The Client is a leading company in Information & Communication Technology.
In line with its sustainable and responsible growth, the Client aims to achieve ISO 14064 certification for two of its main sites and report Scope 3 emissions at Group level, ensuring full compliance with environmental reporting requirements.
The solution
Fichtner Management Consulting Italia s.r.l. supported the client throughout the entire process of obtaining ISO 14064 certification, taking care of every stage: from data collection and drafting of technical documentation to providing support in responding to questions from the certification body.
With regard to Scope 3 emissions, FMCI's support initially consisted of a comparative analysis of the main competitors to define an industry benchmark for the methodology and scope of reporting. Subsequently, an assessment of the Group was conducted to determine the applicability and extent of reporting, and specific training was provided on the GHG Protocol methodologies relating to Scope 3. The process concluded with the sharing of specific data collection models that enabled the calculation of the Scope 3 GHG Inventory through the use of the main emission factors, in line with the recommendations of the GHG Protocol. Finally, FMCI shared possible mitigation and reduction actions relating to the reported Scope 3 categories.
